Katie Jacques
Registered Nurse
Born and raised in small town British Columbia, Katie moved to Kelowna to pursue post-secondary education where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2013). Katie has a variety of nursing experience over the span of her nursing career. She spent 5 years in High Level, Alberta working in a variety of areas including Maternity, Emergency, Acute care, Palliative care and the Operating Room. She then moved back to British Columbia where she continued to work in Rural Community Hospitals and an Indigenous Community, Simpcw, before starting a family. In 2022 Katie and her family decided to move back to Alberta and settled in Calgary. She has a passion for rural hospital work and continues to pursue that at Oilfield’s General Hospital, where she works both Acute care and Emergency.
Katie has developed a passion for patient centered care and a team-based approach to health care. Although she still loves rural hospital nursing, she felt a strong pull to be part of a change in health care around health promotion, prevention and a team-based model of care. Katie instantly felt a connection to this team when she first spoke with Dr. Szabo and has been excited about the vision for Advanced Primary Care since that first conversation.
While not at work Katie loves spending time with her family exploring the great outdoors. She also enjoys and cherishes her friends and loves exploring the restaurants, concerts and amenities this beautiful city has to offer.
